Slow Us Down

 

 

Slow us down Lord, we’re moving too fast.
Help us to smell the roses while they last,
And enjoy each blessing of every day,
As we walk with you along life’s way.
May we never rush on out ahead,
But always follow your lead instead.
Too often we miss your very best
As we hurry through life thinking we’re blest.
Those temporal things we work so hard for
Seem only to leave us wanting more.
The harder we work, the faster we go,
And the more we have, the less we know.
When we do slow down and breathe a sigh,
We find there’s more to life than meets the eye -
Spiritual things that fill our soul,
Satisfy our hearts and make us whole.
It’s those every day blessings we sometimes miss
That give us joy and heavenly bliss.
So, slow us down Lord, and enable us to see
Each and every blessing that comes from Thee.
