Prosperity

 

 

It's not adversity
That clouds our spiritual view,
But rather prosperity,
And the vain pleasures we pursue.
We go through hardship
With our focus on God above,
But earthly possessions
Can cause us to forget His love.
May we never have so much
Of this world's goods and treasure,
That we lose site of the Giver
Of true wealth beyond measure.

 

 

"...feed me with food convenient for me;
Lest I be full, and deny Thee, and say, Who is the LORD?..."
