I Did it My Way

 

When I was young, a song was sung…
“I Did it My Way”.
And like that song, when I was young…
I did it my way.
I lived my life so selfishly…
Never stopped to pray.
I had my own ambitions then…
I did it my way.

“Is there no purpose in this life?”
I questioned one night.
For all I’d done just seemed in vain…
Nothing turned out right.
Then one dark day I realized…
I needed the Light.
I knelt to pray, God touched my eyes…
I received my sight.

No longer bound, in Christ I found
A new life that day.
Now I want to live for Jesus…
And do it His way.
Though at times I may wander off…
Not meaning to stray,
The greatest desire of my heart is…
To do it God’s way.
