Lord, Teach Us to Wait

 

 

O Shepherd of our wayward souls,
Teach us to wait on You;
So often we run out ahead…
Our own way to pursue;
We stumble along the pathway,
Thinking our vision’s clear,
Only to find our own strength gone,
And our hearts filled with fear;
For the darkness covers the Light…
When You are out of sight.

Lord, we find our hope and security
As we follow Your lead;
Open our eyes and help us to see…
You are the Light we need;
Your Spirit illumines our pathway,
Removing doubt and fear,
And our strength is renewed day by day,
When Your presence is near.
As we walk the road to heaven’s gate…
O Lord, Teach Us to Wait.

they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,
