Real Love

 

Having received the Lord Jesus,
We can truly love and live,
For God’s Spirit dwells within us,
And we have His fruit to give.
It is in our Lord that we find
The language of love so pure:
Longsuffering, gentle and kind,
Love that shall ever endure…
Real Love.

It will travel the second mile
Gladly without complaint,
Radiating a cheerful smile
That lifts both sinner and saint.
It will sacrifice for others
Feeling the burden and woe,
Reaching all sisters and brothers
And neighbors who need to know…
Real Love.

Love is not prideful, but humble,
And it does not seek its own,
Nor does it murmur or grumble,
But seeks to make God’s Truth known.
Jesus demonstrated God’s Love
As He hung upon that tree–
The Son of God sent from above
That this entire world might see…
Real Love.
