Safely Sheltered
Abiding in Jesus, our Lord,
We are safely sheltered, friend;
He’s our fortress, our deliverer…
And His mercies never end.
He’s the Truth— our shield and buckler,
Strong and mighty in power,
Our King of Kings and Lord of Lords,
Our refuge and high tower…
We are Safely Sheltered.
When we call upon Him, He answers,
Always hearing as we pray;
He gives us strength to carry on…
And protects our steps each day.
We need not fear the evil, friend,
For it shall not befall us,
God sends forth His mighty angels…
And Satan cannot maul us…
We are Safely Sheltered.
Because we know His precious Name,
We are set on high with Him;
His Holy Spirit undergirds
And protects in darkness grim.
We shall flourish like the palm tree,
In the courts of God above—
Trusting in Jesus Christ, His Son,
We are covered with His love…
And so Safely Sheltered.
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the
most High shall
abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord,
He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”
“There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come
nigh
thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways.”
(Ps 91:1-2, 10-11)
