In Heavenly Places

What a joy to sit in heavenly places,
Peacefully feasting on God’s Word…
How we thank Him for those spiritual blessings
Received as precious truths are heard;
But let us not be so heavenly minded
That we are of no earthly good,
For our testimony can be damaged, friend,
If we’re not walking as we should.

Let us look up and seek that which is above
And sit in heavenly places…
Focusing our eyes on Jesus Christ, our Lord,
Basking in His loving graces;
But let us never be so heavenly minded
We fail to serve our fellowman,
For the greatest spiritual blessings of all
Are found as we reach out a hand.

Thanks be to God for those heavenly places
Where we feast on His precious Word…
Let us sit at His feet and worship our King,
Then go to those who have not heard;
O God, forgive us for being so selfish
And neglecting the needs around,
As our hearts rejoice In Heavenly Places…
Help us keep our feet on the ground.

“God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love
wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together and made us sit together
in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
Jesus said: “…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”
“…Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
(Eph 2:4-6; Jn 20:21; Mk 16:15)
