Abiding In Him

Abiding in Christ, we’re secure
And need never be alarmed;
There’s not a weapon anywhere
That can cause God’s children harm.
He gives His angels charge o’er us
When He saves our sinful soul—
Our names are written in Glory…
And we’re secure in His fold.

Abiding in Him, we’re connected
To the life-sustaining Vine,
And, as branches, we bear fruit—
Righteous fruit of every kind.
We have the nutrients needed
To do good works and grow strong,
And as we depend upon Him…
He fills our hearts with a song.

Clothed in a robe of righteousness—
A robe purchased at the cross—
Let us live lives of faithfulness…
Ever reaching to the lost.
O what peace and joy flood the soul
Of a sinner saved by grace!
Alive in Jesus Christ the Lord,
Headed for that glorious place…
Abiding In Him.

Jesus said: “I am the vine, ye are the branches:
He that abideth in me, and I in him,
the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing.”
(Jn 15:5)
