The Love of God

The love of God, so rich in mercy,
Is love beyond compare;
It satisfies the soul that’s thirsty,
And lifts from dark despair.
While we were yet sinners, He loved us,
And gave His only Son;
On that rugged Cross of Calvary,
Great victory was won…
Thanks to the Love of God.

The love of God draws to repentance…
Thru faith, by grace we’re saved;
Now made new creatures in Christ Jesus,
We’re no longer depraved.
Praise be to God the Father, the Son,
And Spirit, three in One;
Our sins are forever washed away—
A new life has begun…
Thanks to the Love of God.

Oh, glory to God in the Highest!
In Christ, we are so blessed;
Earthly pleasures can never compare
With what we now possess.
As we sing that song, “Love Lifted Me”
Our hearts unite in praise;
Having received Jesus, we are free—
Free to walk in His ways…
Thanks to the Love of God.

 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us,
and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord,
so walk ye in him”
(I Jn 4:10; Col 2:6)
