God's Call

God’s call goes out, not to the righteous,
But to sinners, broken and lost;
His call is clear: “Repent and believe—
Humbly surrender at the Cross.”
It’s the Father’s delight to give life
And to redeem a sinful soul;
O that all could hear His tender call:
“Come to Jesus and be made whole.”

God’s call to service is not to wise,
Noble, mighty men of the flesh;
But to meek and humble believers,
In whom His Holy Word is etched.
Made wise, righteous, sanctified, redeemed
And delivered from sin’s dark realm,
We’re nothing without Christ our Lord…
Let us glory only in Him…
Ever grateful for God’s Call.

 “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men
after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called”
“That no flesh should glory in his presence, But of him
are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom,
and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
That according as it is written,
He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”
(1 Cor 1:26, 29-31)
