A Little Portion of Heaven
If there were no other reason to go to church
But to obey God's command,
I'd want to be there every service
And be part of His great plan.
I'd want to work and serve the Master,
Or just worship at His feet;
Where His people are gathered together
Is always a sweet retreat.
I would go because I love Him so
And just couldn't stay away,
And because I love His family
And want to join with them to pray.
I love hearing His word proclaimed-
Learning His will and way,
The knowledge of my precious Lord
Gives me strength for the day.
I love to hear the glorious choir
As the joyful voices are raised,
And I love joining in to sing
Songs of victory and praise.
But if there were no other reason
But to obey God's command,
I'd want to be there every service
For that special touch of His hand.
What a great privilege is ours
As we go to God's house of prayer;
We find each time we meet,
His Holy Spirit's there.
Church is A Little Portion of Heaven
Granted to us on earth,
When we come to know our Saviour
In the spiritual new birth.
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
(Heb.10:25)
