Like An Oak Tree

I'd like to be like an Oak Tree
As God reveals His Truth to me,
For an Oak has great capacity
For strength in the midst of adversity-
Sturdiness in the roughest breeze,
Standing firm among weaker trees;
Oh, if I could just be like an Oak Tree,
Unmoved when rough winds beat upon me,
Perhaps I could help the weaker I see,
And somehow my life just might be
A witness to Truth that sets man free.
Father, may my roots grow deep in Thee
As more of Thy precious Word I see,
That I may be...Like An Oak Tree.

"Rooted and built up in him and stablished in the faith ..."
"... be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
(Col.2:7; 1 Cor.15:58)
