Do We Really Love?
It’s easy to say “I love you”
To folks lovable and fair,
But when they encounter problems,
Do we really, truly care?
Are we ready to lend a hand
And do everything we can?
Or are we too preoccupied
To altar our scheduled plan?
We can even say “I love you”
To the enemy so cruel,
But when he viciously attacks,
Friend, do we obey this rule?
If he sought to crucify us,
Could we love him anyway?
Could we intercede for his soul
And, with a heart of love, pray?
It’s easy to say we love God,
And we want to do His will,
But in the midst of fiery trials,
Do we love our Savior still?
When our world seems to fall apart,
Do we still feel the same way?
Do we love Him with all our heart?…
It’s just so easy to say.
May God help us to really love.
"Jesus said…Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self."
"If ye love me, keep my commandments."
(Matt.22:37-39; John 14:15)
