I Shall Not Want
I shall not
want for anything
Since my Shepherd saved my soul;
All that I need in Him I find…
As wondrous blessings unfold.
He cares for the birds of the air
And the lilies of the field,
And so much more He cares for me…
Such bountiful fruit doth yield.
I shall not want for anything
Since my captive soul’s been freed;
Christ fulfills my every longing
And supplies my every need.
The joy I find in Him alone
Surpasses worldly pleasure;
My loving Shepherd satisfies…
He is my greatest treasure.
I shall not want for anything,
When I closely follow Him;
His hand corrects and comforts me,
Protecting from darkness grim.
Oh, how could I ever want more
When my Shepherd is with me?
I am my Lord’s and He is mine…
Throughout all eternity.
I shall not want!
"Delight thyself also in the Lord;
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."
"My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory."
(Ps. 37:4; Phil.4:19)
