The Upper Room
It was there, in the upper room,
On that historical day,
Jesus met with His disciples,
To give instruction and pray.
As He gave thanks and broke the bread,
They heard the Master say:
“This is my body…given for you…
Remember me in this way.”
Then He took the cup in His hand,
Desiring that they would see:
It represented His shed blood…
That would set lost sinners free.
Oh, how sacred…The Last Supper,
Such fellowship divine…
They ate, drank, and were satisfied
With the fruit of the Vine –
A taste of that heavenly manna
Which was to come from above,
Feeding the souls of believers,
Uniting their hearts in love.
An upper room at Pentecost
Was where they gathered again,
And the Holy Spirit of God…
Entered and empowered man.
In the heart of each believer,
There’s a holy place of prayer…
As we enter for communion,
Our Lord always meets us there…
In The Upper Room.
"Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest
by the blood of Jesus."
(Heb.10:19)
