Heavenly Band

A musical instrument must be tuned,
To play at itís very best;
And our hearts must be in tune with God,
To enjoy a life thatís blessed.
The strings are undone, torn and tattered,
Having lived for self alone.
Eternal things that really mattered
Were never even known.
Then the Master musician takes our broken heart
Into His skillful hand,
Cleansing, preparing, renewing it,
For His glorious heavenly band.
The strings are replaced with ones of pure gold,
Fine tuned by the Shepherd of His fold.
A beautiful rhapsody now can be heard,
Like the melody of a joyful, sweet song bird -
A blessing to all who hear and see,
The music that sets the captive free.
Now an instrument made ready for the finest sound,
In perfect harmony and heavenward bound -
Solid and secure in the Masterís hand...
Forever to be in His Heavenly Band.

"I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish,
neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand"
(John 10:28)
