The Prize
We dream our dreams and plan our plans,
Then work to meet our goals.
Failure and stress along the way
Take their toll upon our souls;
But it’s worth it all in light of the prize
We see gleaming at the end...
Satisfaction, happiness and joy await...
Just around the bend.
Time passes, oh, so swiftly,
As we travel toward the goal,
And our sight becomes much clearer
As the body’s growing old-
For the prize shines much more brightly
Than it ever did before -
Having reached the goal we find it...
At our own front door.
Not just waiting round the bend,
The prize we sought is found within.
So let’s dream our dreams and plan our plans,
And work to meet our goals...
Enjoying the prize along the way
That lies within our souls.
"The kingdom of God is within you"
(Luke 17:21)
