Unworthy

 

 

Unworthy of that wondrous love bestowed upon my heart
By Him who suffered, bled and died, salvation to impart.
Unworthy of such marvelous grace brought down to lowly man;
Free to all whom He would call, redemption’s in His hand.
Unworthy of that walk with Him, such fellowship divine;
What heavenly bliss to know Him, His Spirit communing with mine.
Unworthy of that chastening rod, as I would go astray,
Conveying again the Father’s love, bringing me back into his way.
Unworthy of the peace and joy, our God alone imparts,
That satisfies the emptiness within our lonely hearts.
Unworthy, yes unworthy still, though children of the King we are -
Giving honor, praise and glory to Him for that one sent from afar.
He gave up His life that we might live to glorify His name -
From an unworthy sinner to an unworthy saint, the message is still the same.
Unworthy of His forgiving power and of His tender care.
Oh, glorious day when we see His face, and bow at His feet o’er there.
Keep us at the foot of the cross, oh, Shepherd of my soul -
That no flesh would glory in thy presence, but this truth would sure unfold...
