The Christ
"Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God",
Peter answered our Lord one day;
And upon this truth, God builds His church
On the straight and narrow way.
The Christ who shed His precious blood
On the cross of Calvary
Could have called a host of angels,
But chose to die for you and me.
The Christ who arose victoriously
Over sin, death and the grave,
Extends His Hand of mercy,
Our sinful souls to save.
Lifted in a world of darkness
For all mankind to see...
Those who bow before Him
Shall live eternally.
"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me"
(John 12:32)
