Miracle of Light

The earth was without form and void—
Darker than the darkest night,
The Spirit moved on the waters,
And God said, “Let there be light”…
And there was light.
He divided light from darkness,
Creating the day and night,
Then said, “Let there be firmament,
Land, seas, greater and lesser lights”…
And it was so.
He made the sun, the moon, and stars,
To light the earth, day and night;
Oh, what a vision to behold
As we gaze upon that light…
A glorious miracle!

Our souls are without form and void—
Spiritual darkness within,
Till the Spirit moves in our hearts,
Bringing conviction of sin…
And there is light.
God divides the light from darkness
As His Spirit enters in...
We are made new creatures in Christ,
Redeemed from darkness and sin…
He is our Light.
Abundant life is ours—peace, joy,
Grace and strength for all we do,
And even in the hardest trials,
That glorious ray shines thru…
Oh, the Miracle of Light!

“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
Jesus said: “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me
shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
(Gen 1:3; Jn 8:12)
