Ask Not

 

 

Ask not what your Saviour can do for you...
Consider the old rugged tree;
Now ask what you can do for Him,
Your soul having been set free.
Surrendered before The Throne of Grace,
Having humbly bowed to pray,
Arise to serve your God and King
And live for Him each day.

Ask not what your neighbor can do for you
As you walk this pilgrim land,
But what you can do along life's way
To help your fellowman.
It's not in receiving the finest gifts
That rich treasure is found,
But in the deeds you do for others
As you share God's love around.

Ask not what your church can do for you
To supply your every need,
But what you can do for the ministry
In spreading the gospel seed.
When you take the message of the Master
And share it in all you do,
Bountiful blessings without number
Come right back home to you.

 

 

"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down,
and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withall it shall be measured to you again."
(Luke 6:38)
