The Living Church
The true church is alive and well,
Not made with mortal hands,
But, built by the great Designer,
According to His plans.
Resting upon the solid Rock,
The only safe foundation,
The church is strong and secure,
Without sin's degredation.
Constructed not with wood or hay,
Nor with silver or fine gold,
But, with precious lively stones,
Chosen and sealed to hold;
Stones made righteous and holy,
Serving the maker as priests,
Offering spiritual sacrifices
And praises without cease.
Though forceful winds and rains
Batter the house with hail,
The Rock, the Chief Cornerstone,
Holds firm within the vale.
The work will soon be complete,
The last stone put in place;
Hallelujah!...The Living Church
Shall meet the Builder face to face.
"Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house,
an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices,
acceptable to God by Jesus Christ."
