Come Aside
Though we care about every need
As folks in us confide,
Sometimes we get overloaded
And just must come aside.
A listening ear can help someone
Who has a special need,
Yet, at times we must be refreshed
And in quiet pastures feed.
The Shepherd calls us from the crowd
To come aside and rest,
That we might be of greater help
And serve Him at our best.
As we walk beside still waters…
He restoreth our soul,
And as we feed in green pastures…
There, great blessings unfold.
The rich treasures of God's kingdom
Are ours to possess,
And then to share with all about,
That others might be blessed.
But when we are tired and weary,
Tempted, tested and tried,
Let us hear and heed His calling…
"My child, just Come Aside."
"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters."
"He restoreth my soul"
(Ps. 23:2-3)
