The Beauty of a Sunrise
Oh, the beauty of a sunrise…
What a feast for human eyes!
As the new day's just beginning,
Lift your head up to the skies…
There, a portion of God's heaven
Shines for all mankind to see…
Glory to God in the highest,
Through time and eternity.
Oh, the beauty of a sunrise…
Free for all on earth to view,
Lift your eyes and heart toward heaven,
Let God's Spirit speak to you…
He will give you grace and glory
As you come to Christ, His Son…
Abundant life will fill your soul
As this race on earth is run.
How could one not know God exists
As they see His Light above?
How could anyone resist
Divine mercy, grace, and love?
Oh, the beauty of a sunrise…
When Christ Jesus we receive,
Looking toward the glorious skies,
How could we not believe?
Oh, the beauty of that city…
When our life on earth is o'er,
And a new day's just beginning
On that great celestial shore…
When we see the face of Jesus
Over on the other side…
We'll bask in Heaven's Son Light…
And forevermore abide.
"The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth from the
rising of the sun unto the going down thereof."
"And the city had no need of the sun…for the glory of God did lighten it,
and the Lamb is the light thereof."
(Ps.50:1; Rev.21:23)
