If Christ Had Not Been Born

What would the world be like today
If Jesus had not come to earth?
If there had not been a manger
With a miracle virgin birth?
No sacrifice would have been made
To atone for the sins of man;
No one would know of God’s great love,
There would be no redemption plan.
No spiritual fruit would be seen,
No written Word within the heart;
All the world would be in darkness…
There would be no Light to impart.
There would have been no apostles,
And Paul’s name would still have been Saul,
No New Testament books written,
And no abundant life at all.
For there would be no Redeemer
To change men’s lives and make them whole,
And there would be no green pastures
To satisfy the hungry soul.
There would be no loving Shepherd
To protect, comfort and to guide,
There would be no Holy Spirit…
Filling the heart, living inside.
The Psalmist of so long ago
Knew Him in a special way,
For the saints of old all believed
That Jesus would be born one day.
He was right there in ages past…
The same Good Shepherd, Lord, and King –
The promised Messiah, yet to come –
The hope to which the saints did cling.
Hallelujah! God sent His Son…
The fulfillment of His great plan;
My friend, If Christ Had Not Been Born…
There would be no hope for man.

 “The Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of his children Israel”
“Christ in you, the hope of glory”
(Joel 3:16; Col 1:27)
