My Shepherd

“The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want”
Said the psalmist of long ago,
And He is our Shepherd, we are His sheep,
When Christ Jesus we come to know.
He leads and protects, on the righteous path,
Securing our home in heaven,
With His rod and staff, He comforts each day…
And such peace and joy is given.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want,
As I travel this pilgrim way,
For He more than supplies all of my needs,
As I follow and humbly pray.
His still waters restore my weary soul,
In His green pastures, I find rest,
And the table that is spread before me…
Is prepared with His very best.

Oh, what a wonderful Lord and Shepherd
Is Jesus, my Savior and King –
Counselor, Prince of Peace, the Mighty God –
Yet, closest Friend to Whom I cling.
My cup overflows with abundant joy,
And, with the psalmist, I can say,
“The Lord is My Shepherd; I shall not want”…
He’s with me each step of the way.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
(Ps 23:1)
