The Beauty of a Silent Night

Oh, the beauty of a silent night,
When all is peaceful and calm,
The anxious heart becomes quiet and still…
As it finds a soothing balm –
A balm that reaches deep in the soul,
Destroying the chains that bind,
Freeing the spirit, making alive…
And healing the troubled mind.

It must have been on a silent night,
When our Savior came to earth,
As shepherds quietly tended their flock…
The angels announced His birth.
God could have chosen the busy town
To proclaim such glorious news,
But in His divine purpose and plan…
A quiet place He did choose.

In the stillness of the darkest night,
As we lift our eyes above,
Communing, seeking to make things right…
Our Savior reveals His love.
Yes, there is a soothing, healing balm,
As we pray, confessing sin…
Oh, The Beauty of a Silent Night…
Where hearts are made clean within.

“Be still and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
“Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still.”
“God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.”
(Ps 46:10; 4:4; I Thes 4:7)
