Where Would This World Be?

If Jesus Christ had not been born,
Just where would this world be?
Can we even imagine, friend,
The chaos we would see?
It would be a world in darkness…
No spiritual light at all;
Prisoners of Satan bound in chains,
Still suffering from the fall…
Breathing, walking, living, yet dead
In trespasses and sins,
Thoughts and intents only evil…
No way to make amends.
We cannot even imagine
The great turmoil and strife…
A dark world where evil prevails
Void of spiritual life.
There would have been no sacrifice…
No atonement for sin,
No forgiveness, no peace, or joy,
No contentment within.
It would be a world of sorrow…
No Comforter would have come,
And without the resurrection…
Souls would march to Satan’s drum.
If Jesus Christ had not been born,
Just where would you and I be?
How I shudder to think, dear friend,
Of the fate of you and me…
But, praise God, He came to this earth,
Shed His blood on Calvary…
Arose from the grave and now lives…
To set the captives free.
Let us lift His Holy Name high
For all around to see…
Friend, what if Christ had not been born…
Oh, Where Would This World Be?

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
(Lu 2:11)
