A Pure Heart

Christians, we can have a pure heart
By purging ourselves from sin…
Following after righteousness,
True faith, love, and peace within.
Let us not strive, but be gentle,
Fleeing from all youthful lusts,
Preparing ourselves for service
To God who’s holy and just.

When we call on the LORD our God
Out of a pure and clean heart…
We worship in spirit and truth
And His Word He doth impart.
In meekness, we reach out and share
The message of the Master,
That others might turn and repent,
Being spared from disaster.

Oh, that we would live holy lives—
True examples of the faith—
Walking close with Jesus our Lord...
Each and every step we take.
Let us purge ourselves from all sin—
In Christ, we’re without excuse,
We can be vessels of honor,
Fit for the Master’s use…
Serve with A Pure Heart.

“Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
“If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour,
sanctified, and meet for the Master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
Flee also youthful lusts; but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace,
with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
(2 Tim 2:19, 21-22)
