Amazing Grace! O precious Grace
That sets the captive free—
Grace so divine a soul can find
New life at Calvary.
By Grace we’re lifted from the mire,
And planted on the Rock—
As knees are bent and hearts repent,
Chains of sin are unlocked…
The Apostle Paul found this new life,
As Light shone round about—
He fell and prayed—by Grace was saved…
Never again to doubt.
When we surrender all to God,
As Paul of long ago,
We’re sure to find God’s Grace divine…
As Christ we come to know.
He gives a wondrous song to sing—
A song of victory—
Sins forgiven, bound for Heaven…
Such Grace we cannot comprehend
With the mere finite mind—
But we can bow to Jesus now
And this great treasure find.
If I could live ten thousand years
Right here on earth’s green sod,
The days would be too few for me
To praise my Saviour God…
For His Amazing Grace!
“For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
