Loving One Another
Sometimes we become offended
By what one says or does,
When we need to be more tender…
Responding out of love.
We may have misinterpreted
The motive of the heart,
Not really understanding…
Hearing only in part.
Oh, let us always be careful
How we view our brother,
And stay sweet in our attitude…
Loving one another.
Love is the greatest commandment
In fulfilling God’s law;
It’s the first fruit of the Spirit…
It covers every flaw.
Without love, we are nothing, friend,
Though we may prophecy,
Or speak with the tongues of angels…
Lifting hearts to the sky;
And though we preach doctrinal truth
From beginning to end,
Without love, we’re as sounding brass…
And tinkling cymbals, friend.
May our hearts be filled with God’s love,
Keeping us kind and sweet,
As we labor in His Kingdom…
The many needs to meet…
Jesus said: “This is my commandment, that
ye love one another,
as I have loved you.”
(Jn 15:12)
