This World Needs Love!

We sing, “What the world needs now is love, sweet love”—
A statement no one can deny;
But we need the true and lasting love of God—
A love that does not wane or die.

God demonstrated His great love for this world
On a hill called Calvary,
Where Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son,
Paid the sin debt for you and me.

When we come to Him in repentance and faith,
We’re saved by grace and freed from sin,
And the love of God permeates our being…
As His sweet Spirit dwells within.

His everlasting, unconditional love
Is perfected in you and me;
Oh, what sweet fruit of the Spirit we enjoy…
Thanks to the Cross of Calvary.

Yes, friend, “What the world needs now is love, sweet love”—
A pure love—unselfish and kind;
Love that bears, believes, hopes and endures all things—
Such a priceless treasure to find…
Oh, how This World Needs Love!

“God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”
“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us,
and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
“No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another,
God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.”
(1 Jn 4:16, 10, 12)
