Thy Will Be Done

 

 

Our Heavenly Father, Thy will be done
In earth, as it is in Heaven;
And whatever our lot may be, teach us
To give thanks for all You’ve given.

You never promised us a rose garden,
Or all sunny, trouble free days,
Nor did You promise there’d be no valleys…
But You have filled our souls with praise;
Your Son’s precious blood purchased our pardon—
We’re redeemed by amazing grace,
And Your Holy Spirit is there with us
Through each and every trial we face;
When we must walk thru the deep, dark valleys,
We can trust You to lead the way,
And it is there we learn more about You,
As You shed Light on the dark day.
Thy will be done in earth, as in Heaven—
God forbid we ever complain;
For You provide such wonderful blessings…
Here on earth, as our souls You train.

O God, whatever You want us to do—
Whatever way--however long,
We know that we can always trust in You
To give strength and a joyful song…
Thy Will Be Done.

 

 

 Jesus said: “After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
(Matt 6:9-10)
