The Older We Grow

We learn as we go, and the older we grow
Wisdom and knowledge increase,
Lest we turn a deaf ear and refuse to hear
God’s message of love and peace.
New life He imparts and reveals to our hearts
The need to trust and obey,
As we hear His voice let us make the right choice…
And walk in His holy way.

The older we grow when Christ Jesus we know
The closer to Him we cling…
In Him we can’t fail, for He strengthens the frail
With a joyful song to sing.
God’s fruit doth abound as His knowledge is found
And we feed upon His Word…
Though our eyes grow dim, we still flourish in Him
When His precious Truth we’ve heard.

We long for that day when He calls us away
To our Home beyond the sun…
Leaving all behind, what great joy we shall find
When this race on earth is run;
But until that time, with our heart, soul, and mind,
Let us humbly serve our King,
Still bearing His fruit in a worthy pursuit…
Till we hear the angels sing.

 “Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish
in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age;
they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the LORD is upright:
he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.”
(Ps 92:13-15)
