Great and Precious Promises
Such great and precious promises
Throughout God’s Word we see,
If we would grasp them and believe,
All our worry would flee.
There’s the promise of forgiveness
For broken sinful souls,
Who come to Jesus repenting,
Desiring to be whole;
The promise of life eternal
With Him forevermore—
Abundant life right here and now
And on that glorious shore;
The promise of satisfaction
For all within His care—
Inner peace, joy, and righteousness,
Real love beyond compare.
Rest is promised to the weary,
Grace sufficient to stand;
In the palm of His hand.
God hath promised to meet each need
And work all for our good,
As we follow our Great Shepherd
And live the way we should.
He hath promised to be with us
Through every trial and task,
My friend, what more could He give us?
Oh, what more could we ask?
Our Great God keeps His promises,
On Him we can rely,
And all who look for Christ’s return
Shall join Him in the sky…
Such Great and Precious Promises!
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great
and precious promises:
that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
(II Pet 1:4)
