My Savior

Who warmed my heart so hard and cold
And placed me in His loving fold
Forevermore to be made whole?
My Savior.
Who reached so low and brought me out,
Planted my feet on heaven’s route,
And removed every fear and doubt?
My Savior.
And who was right there by my side,
A healing balm to be applied,
When pain was so intensified?
My Savior
When I selfishly went astray,
Who drew me back into His way,
Forgiving as I knelt to pray?
My Savior.
Forbid that I should ever fail
Thy grace that set my ship in sail
And shelters from the stormy gale…
My Savior.
My heart has no desire to be
Sailing on any other sea
When Thou hast done so much for me…
My Savior.
Oh, steer me toward that holy place,
Where I shall see Thy shining face,
Ever to bask in loving grace…
My Savior.
And as I sail, my song shall be
Filled with Thy praise and victory,
Till I reach shore to be with Thee…
My Savior.

“I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart:
and I will glorify thy name for evermore. For great is thy mercy toward me:
and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.”
(Ps 86:12-13)
