The Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments given,
On that mountain long ago,
Bring conviction to our hearts,
That the Savior we would know.
They are the moral standards
Reflecting God’s Holiness,
And it’s in that reflection
That we see our sinfulness...
And are turned to Righteousness.

Many would like to destroy
The commandments of our LORD,
And try they will, in ignorance,
With their weak and feeble sword;
Loving darkness more than Light,
Rebelling against what’s right,
Living ungodly lifestyles,
They reap a terrible plight…
Separated from the Light.

We have seen God’s laws removed
From schools, courthouses, and more,
And judgment is on our land
Like we’ve never known before.
O God, forgive Your people
For failing to take a stand;
The Holy Ten Commandments,
Written by Your mighty hand…
Are so needed in this land.

The LORD said: “O that there were such a heart in them,
that they would fear me and keep my commandments always,
that it might be well with them and with their children for ever!”
(Deut 5:29)
