What a Sacrifice!

What a sacrifice Jesus made
On that hill called Calvary;
The debt of sin we owed, He paid…
To redeem and set us free.
He could have summoned the angels
To take Him off that cruel cross,
But He hung there bleeding, dying…
Lovingly paying the cost.
What a Sacrifice!

Nothing we go though could compare
With what our Lord suffered, friend;
His visage was marred so much more
Than ever a man has been.
God, forbid we ever complain
When those trials and troubles come,
But lift our hearts and give You praise
For sending Your only Son…
What a Sacrifice!

 “His visage was so marred more than any man,
and his form more than the sons of men.”
“We are sanctified through the offering of the body
of Jesus Christ once and for all.”
“This man, after he had offered one sacrifice
for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God”
(Isa 52:14; Heb 10:10, 12)
