Hallowed Be Thy Name

 

 

Our Father, “Hallowed be Thy Name.”
Thou art Holy and pure--
Deliverer from sin and shame…
In Thee we are secure.
When we bow before Thee in prayer,
Our sinful selves we see,
But we can find forgiveness there…
Thanks to that rugged tree.
Hallowed Be Thy Name.

Thy great Kingdom has come to earth
With the coming of Christ--
Only in Him have we new birth…
And everlasting life.
Help us to know and do Thy will
Every day that we live;
Teach us to listen and be still…
And to truly forgive.
Hallowed Be Thy Name.

When we’re tempted to stray away
From Thy presence serene,
LORD, deliver us in that day…
Keep our hearts pure and clean.
All the praise, honor, and glory
Belong only to Thee;
Thou and Thou alone art Holy…
It’s in Thee we are free.
Hallowed Be Thy Name.

 Jesus said: “After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.”
(Matt 6:9-10)
