Resting in Him

How blessed we are to rest in Jesus,
Our loving Shepherd and King--
The unchangeable Rock of Ages,
The One whose praises we sing.
He under girds in troublesome times,
His mercies never cease;
Forgiven, we’re headed for Heaven…
Resting in the Prince of Peace.

God forbid we sin anymore,
But if we do, He is there--
Our Advocate, Intercessor, Friend,
Lifting us with tender care.
The desire of our heart is to please
The Great Shepherd of our soul--
Our First Love, Savior, Sustainer…
The One who makes us whole.

How we long for others to know Him
In the fullness of His grace;
He satisfies the hungering soul…
There is not a sweeter taste.
And should all the mountains tumble down,
And be cast into the sea,
We need not fear things coming on earth,
We are safe eternally…
Resting in Him.

 “Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.”
“There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.”
(Ps 46:2; Heb 4:9)
