Two Roads
There are two roads, my pilgrim friend,
One leads to new life without end;
It is the straight and narrow way,
With a Light to guide day by day…
And Heaven to win.
The other road is a dead end--
Souls are lost in darkness and sin;
It’s the broad way to destruction,
Ending in final corruption…
Never to ascend.
Jesus Christ, the way, truth, and life,
Delivers from sin, death and strife;
As we humble ourselves and pray,
He lifts us to the narrow way…
A new joyful height.
The penalty of sin is death--
Ever under judgment and wrath;
Friend, those wages are just too high
To ignore Christ and not draw nigh…
And miss the right path.
There are no more roads, only two,
One is traveled by just a few;
The other by many, still lost...
Oh, if they would just count the cost…
On which road are you?
Jesus said: “Enter ye in at the strait
gate: for wide is the gate,
and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction,
and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate,
and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it.”
