Highest Potential

 

 

Many folks live their lives and die,
Never bowing to God’s call,
Bound forevermore in darkness…
Never having lived at all.
How sad to choose the lowly life,
Never leaving earthly ground,
When one has potential to soar…
To new heights, heavenward bound.

Should a caterpillar not live
To become a butterfly,
What a great loss for that creature…
Never having soared on high,
Never having touched any soul
With the beauty of its wings,
Never reaching its potential…
Not knowing new life, God brings.

O God, change lives for Thy glory,
Making new creatures divine,
May souls come to know Jesus Christ…
Before the end of their time;
May they soar in Thy great kingdom,
Spreading their glorious wings,
Reaching their Highest Potential…
Knowing Christ, and life He brings.

the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord”
