Preaching on Sin

When we preach on sin, my dear friend,
We preach the message of love…
Revealing the light of what’s right
In the eyes of God above –
Light that draws the lost to the cross –
Where Christ’s precious blood was shed…
Souls become free as they see
It was for their sin He bled.

As we preach on sin, my dear friend,
In the Spirit of God’s love…
His convicting hand touches man,
With His power from above –
Power to change hearts, give new starts –
Lost souls become born again…
As they see blood spilt, for their guilt…
In God’s great and mighty plan.

When we preach on sin, my dear friend,
We suffer persecution…
By souls with an ear, who can’t hear,
And do not want intrusion.
Lord, help us to preach, and to teach,
The truth of Thy precious Word…
That perhaps someday, in some way,
One who can’t hear, will have heard.

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke,
exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when
they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall heap
to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears
from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things,
endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”
(II Tim 4:2-5)
