Our Deepest Need — New Life
Shackled by sin and selfishness,
Darkness surrounds the soul.
Apart from Christ and righteousness,
The heart is dead and cold.
In the core of every being,
Lies dead faith – dormant seed,
Made alive as sin is fleeing…
New life – our deepest need.
Fetters are broken by Jesus,
Shattered and torn into,
As we come to Him, He frees us…
His Light comes shining through.
No other one can break the chains
That bind that dormant seed,
Only Christ can touch the remains…
And meet Our Deepest Need –
New Life.
Jesus said: “I am the light of the world:
he that followeth me
Shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we
may obtain mercy,
and find grace to help in time of need.”
(Jo 8:12; Heb 4:16)
